During the visit, Mr. Trung met with the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Administrator of the US Agency for International Development Samantha Power and members of Congress, the President of the National Democratic Institute, and the President of the International Republican Institute.

He also met with several corporations, businesses, research institutes, experts, US policy advisory groups, and representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in the United States.

Mr. Trung emphasized that in its foreign policy of independence and self-reliance, Vietnam considers its relationship with the United States strategically significant. The US government and congressional officials highly valued Vietnam's position and role, affirming that the Vietnam-US relationship enjoys bipartisan support from both the Democratic and Republican parties.

During their discussions, both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining regular exchanges and visits at all levels, particularly high-level ones. They also highlighted the effective implementation of cooperation mechanisms, including new mechanisms for diplomatic and economic dialogues.

The robust and stable growth in economic and trade cooperation remains a cornerstone and key driver of the bilateral relationship. The two sides also agreed to enhance collaboration in addressing global challenges such as climate change, environmental issues, and global pandemics.

Both parties expressed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations as they approach the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the United States (1995–2025), with practical and meaningful activities to mark the occasion.
