(VOVworld) – A man who carried out a Houston, Texas, shooting spree was killed on Monday after wounding many people near the Weslayan and Bissonnet shopping center in the city’s southwest.

Police said the injured were taken to local hospitals but no report has been released so far on the number of people shot or the severity of their injuries.

The same day, French police arrested a man in his 60s who is reported to have opened fire at shoppers at a French supermarket, wounding two people.

The shooter fled the scene and holed up in his apartment. He was known to the police, who described the incident as a 'private dispute' which does not appear to be terror-related.
