(VOVworld) – The development plan of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for the period of 2011-2015 was the main topic of a seminar that took place in the southern province of CanTho yesterday. Participants discussed measures to speed up the development and improve competitiveness of SMEs while creating a sound investment and business environment enabling opportunities for SMEs to further contribute to economic development, national competitiveness promotion, and international economic integration. The Enterprise Development Department has set goals for the SMEs development strategy until 2015, including 350.000 newly established companies and 8-10% SMEs to enter the export market. SMEs’ investment targets to reach 40% of the whole society’s and they will create 3.5 to 4 million job opportunities. To reach those goals, SMEs need assistance in financial and credit approach, effective capital use, upgraded technology, manpower development, financial promotion and market analysis.
