(Xinhua)- South Korean President Park Geun-hye urged North Korea to give up its nuclear program. In the opening ceremony of the National Unity Advisory Council (NUAC) on Wednesday, President Park said that until Pyongyang gives up its nuclear program, peace and national unification can go no further on the Korean Peninsula. She stressed that North Korea needs to scrap its nuclear weapons immediately and said that if denuclearization in North Korea makes clear progress, a higher level of cooperation between the two countries can begin.
