South Korea open to supplying North Korea with COVID-19 vaccines

(VOVWORLD) - South Korea will provide COVID-19 vaccines to the North, either directly or via international facilities, if the North wants it, the Unification Ministry said Tuesday.

According to the Ministry, Seoul considers inter-Korean cooperation necessary to fight COVID-19, adding that the South Korean government will announce its vaccine provision plan for the North after weighing its domestic supply and seeking public approval.

On the sidelines of the G7 Summit, President Moon Jae-in said South Korea will become a global vaccine hub based on its production capacity, adding that the US backs its humanitarian aid for North Korea.
