South Korea, US, Japan reaffirm commitment to trilateral security cooperation

(VOVWORLD) -The leaders of South Korea, the United States and Japan on Sunday issued a joint statement, marking the first anniversary of the trilateral summit at Camp David and committing to strengthening security cooperation.

In the joint statement, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida emphasized working together to achieve the shared goal and the determination of the three countries to maintain peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region and readiness to respond to challenges.

"We are working together to achieve our shared goals of advancing security and prosperity for the region and the world. We stand by our commitment to consult on regional challenges, provocations and threats affecting our collective interests and security," the statement read.
