(VOVworld) – The Syrian army on Thursday recaptured the town of Soran, one of the largest towns in central Syria.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, after being reinforced several weeks ago, Syrian government forces regained control of the entire town following a heavy bombardment. Controlling Soran will allow Syrian artillery to attack Idlib, one of the most important rebel strongholds in northern Syria.
Syria's official SANA news agency said at least 6 children were killed in rebel rocket attacks on government-held areas of Aleppo.
