Hijab entered Jordan along with some of his family members, Jordanian government spokesman Samih Maayyah was quoted as saying. Hijab was reportedly sacked and defected Monday.

Turkey’s news agency Anadolu reported Wednesday that some 2400 people crossed into Turkey to escape the escalating violence in Syria, raising the number of Syrian refugees in Turkey to 50,000.
