(VOVWORLD) - The 2024 Techcombank HCM City International Marathon officially opened on Friday, featuring a record of nearly 18,000 athletes from 64 countries and territories.

The seventh tournament's main race, which will be held on Sunday, features multiple race categories 42.195km, 21.1km, 10 km, 5 km and a Kids Run.
As part of the marathon event, the Marathon Village, held at The Global City, features a variety of exhibition booths, engaging activities, and professional workshops from Friday to Sunday.
On the official race day on Sunday, the runners will compete on a course that runs through 17 historic landmarks in celebration of the spirit of “Run for a Greater Vietnam.”

This 7th season serves as a key highlight in the series of activities for Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week.
It is not only a prestigious regional-level running competition but also offers athletes and visitors, both domestic and international, a journey to explore the beauty of Ho Chi Minh City, famously known as the "Pearl of the Far East."
