(VOVworld) - The government meeting on law making continued on Friday with a focus on amendments to the Law on Pharmaceutical. Delegates agreed on the Ministry of Health’s role as a regulator of medicine pricing, while an inter-sectoral council should be set up to handle the issue. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung was addressing the meeting:“The Ministries of Health and Finance have to take an active role in medicine price management. Balance between supply and demand should be ensured to reduce prices while multi-economic sectors will be incentivized to invest in the pharmaceutical industry.”
The Prime Minister said the Ministries of Finance and Investment and Planning should cooperate in detailing amendments to the laws on state capital management and enterprises to clarify the function and role by state owned enterprises in Vietnam.
