The Vietnamese top legislator told Chairman Noda Yoshihiko in Tokyo on Friday that Japan is currently Vietnam's largest official development assistance (ODA) donor and the two countries need to further strengthen cooperation in multiple fields to match their comprehensive strategic partnership.
Mr. Man also asked Mr. Noda and his party to continue supporting and facilitating conditions for the Vietnamese community to reside, study, work, and live long-term in Japan.
Chairman Noda said that with Vietnam’s demographic advantage of a young labor force and a low proportion of elderly people, the country could collaborate with Japan, which has a high proportion of elderly people and a smaller labor force, to create a complementary and mutually supportive labor resource model.
Japan's strengths in technology and technical expertise could aid Vietnam in implementing large-scale projects and programs, he said.
