Trump won’t rule out using coercive measures to expand US influence

(VOVWORLD) - US President-elect Donald Trump said he would not rule out using military or economic coercion to acquire Greenland and the Panama Canal, adding that the US will use economic power to make Canada the 51st US state.

Canadian officials dismissed Trump's idea. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Canada would not annex the US.
Trump said he will rename the Gulf of Mexico the "Gulf of America", and warned of Middle East turmoil unless the hostages in Gaza are released before his inauguration on January 20.
Trump also said he will pardon those charged in the January 6, 2021, US Capitol riot.
This was US President-elect Trump's first press conference since the US Congress on January 6 officially certified his victory in the 2024 election.
