Ukraine halts payment for pro-independence regions
(VOVworld) - The Kiev government will freeze budget subsidies for pro-independence eastern territories in Donetsk and Lugansk. Ukraine's Prime Minister Arseni Yatsenyuk told a government meeting on Wednesday that areas held by pro-independence forces need 2.6 billion USD in state support. This social payment will be resumed when the forces have been surrendered. Yatsenyuk said gas and electricity will continue to be supplied to opposition-held zones in southeast.
