US imposes new sanctions on Russia's energy sector
(VOVWORLD) - The United States announced new sanctions targeting Russia's energy sector on Friday. These sanctions apply to 230 entities and individuals involved in activities such as oil production and liquefied natural gas (LNG) exportation.

Notably, Gazprom Neft, Surgutneftegas, 180 Russian tankers, oil traders, and insurance companies were included.
The move is part of an effort to reduce Russia's energy revenue, which the US claims fuels its conflict in Ukraine. The sanctions also ban Russia from accessing US services related to crude oil exploration, production, and associated products.
