(VOVWORLD) - The comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the US has flourished over the years, said Vietnam’s Minister of Natural Resources and Environment at a ceremony in Hanoi on Friday marking the 246th Independence Day of the US.
The event was hosted by US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper, who said recent visits by senior leaders of the two countries and a visit to Vietnam by US Vice President Kamala Harris in 2021 has created a driving force to strengthen political, diplomatic and trust-building dialogue between Vietnam and the US, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the Asia-Pacific region.
Minister Tran Hong Ha thanked the US government and people for giving Vietnam COVID-19 vaccines and medical equipment. He said he hopes the US will cooperate and support Vietnam to fulfill its commitments on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and invest in green transformation in Vietnam.
