US spokesperson Heather Nauert: US interested in talking with North Korea at right time

Heather Nauert said in an interview that Pyongyang is not showing an interest in dialogue when it continues to launch ballistic missiles and test nuclear weapons. She said the US through its "peaceful pressure campaign," will continue to place pressure and sanctions on Pyongyang in the hopes that the regime will come to the table. The US diplomat’s statement was made after North Korea’s Deputy Ambassador to the UN Kim In ryong said the North will never negotiate on nuclear weapon disarmament unless the hostile policy and nuclear threat of the US is thoroughly eradicated.

At the second round of a High-Level Economic Dialogue in Washington the same day, Japanese Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso and US Vice President Mike Pence condemned North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile program saying it is threatening security in the Asia Pacific region as well as the wider world.
