US President criticizes China's acts in the East Sea

(VOVworld) - President Obama said Tuesday that China is "flexing muscles" to implement its claims in the East Sea and and reiterated the US's commitment to protecting Japan's territorial integrity.

Obama’s statement was released during a news conference in the Rose Garden, after a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who is visiting Washington to boost bilateral relationship and deal with new challenges in the region. President Barack Obama and Minister Shinzo Abe have expressed their concerns over China's recent acts including building Giant Floating Islands and airport in the East Sea. Minister Shinzo Abe reiterated Japan and the US’s determinations to oppose any act of China that could change the status quo and emphasized that any disputes need to be settled peacefully in line with international la.
