(VOVWORLD) -US President Donald Trump on Thursday said the best agreement he could have with Russian President Vladimir Putin would be one on a world free from nuclear weapons.
Asked what would be the best possible result from his meeting with Putin, Trump said: “No more nuclear weapons anywhere in the world, no more wars, no more problems, no more conflicts”.
Trump described Putin as a “competitor” rather than an “enemy”. He added that his upcoming meeting with Putin would be “the easiest” part of his European trip.
Trump is on a week-long visit to Europe. He will meet with Putin in Finland early next week to discuss bilateral ties, national defense, and global issues. Earlier, Trump attended a NATO summit in Brussels, putting pressure on NATO’s members to increase their defense spending.
