(VOVworld) - US Secretary of State John Kerry, has said for the first time that in some cases, US spying has gone too far, amid escalating tension over the matter. Kerry told a London conference via video link that there's an effort to try to gather information but innocent people were not being abused in this process.
He admitted that in some cases, however, it has gone too far and had been inappropriate. But he assured the conference that President Obama was determined to try to clarify the facts and was now doing a thorough review.
In a statement released by the State Department, Kerry explained that gathering personal information was necessary because of the threat from terrorism. He added that many parts of the world have been subject to these terrorist attacks.
