Blinken said the US Agency for International Development (USAID) is providing humanitarian aid to support Vietnam’s recovery efforts. This aid will include cash, shelter, water, sanitation, and hygiene assistance, as well as non-food items to support Government-led disaster recovery across Vietnam.

With more heavy rain forecast in the coming days, USAID’s disaster experts will continue close coordination with local emergency authorities and partners on the ground, and the US will continue to work with partners to support the people of Vietnam, Blinken said.

He also expressed sympathy for other countries in the region, including China, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, and the Philippines. The US stands ready to provide assistance to all those in need, he said.
