(VOVworld) – The General Department of Fisheries of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development says in January the US remained the leading importer of seafood products from Vietnam despite increasing trade barriers. The US, which accounted for 20% of Vietnam’s total seafood market, was followed by Japan and South Korea. Vietnam expects to earn 6.4 billion USD from seafood exports in 2013. The Ministry intends to push shrimp, tra fish, and tuna, while stepping up product advertisement abroad.
