Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan began a five-day official visit to Thailand yesterday at the invitation of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

Both host and guest expressed their pleasure at the fine developments in the ongoing friendship and cooperation shown between Vietnam and Thailand. They agreed that senior level visits, especially by members of the Thai royal family, have consolidated understanding and trust between the two countries and have boosted bilateral cooperation in many ways.
Doan said she was delighted to visit Thailand for the first time, adding that under the sound rule of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the people of Thailand will achieve even more and see the country develop and prosper as well as raise its position in the region and the world.
