(VOV) - Vietnam-Japan bilateral ties have progressed strongly, especially since the two countries’ leaders agreed to raise their relations to a strategic partnership status in 2009. Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, who will attend the Future of Asia Conference in Japan’s Nagoya City on Thursday, made the statement during a meeting with Hideaki Ohmura, governor of Aichi Prefecture. She expressed her hope that the province will boost co-operation projects with Vietnam in light processing and subsidiary industries, aviation, and health. Governor Ohmura said the prefecture pledges to continue providing surgery for children born with cleft palate or cleft lip defects and co-operate in providing health check-ups, treatment, and equipment.
The vice president visited a high-tech health center in Nagoya City and the Tokugawa Art Museum which holds more than 10,000 items carrying the imprint of Japan’s culture in the Middle Ages.
