(VOVworld) -  Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan visits Laos from October 15-18 at the invitation of Lao Vice President Bounnhang Vorachith.

 

At a meeting on Thursday, the two leaders affirmed that Vietnam and Laos will continue to improve their traditional relationship, unity, and comprehensive cooperation.
They agreed to increase delegation exchanges and improve cooperative mechanisms in security-defense, new-generation trade agreements, and the Vietnam-Lao border trade agreement. The two countries pledged to work closely at international forums and, together with other ASEAN countries, successfully build the ASEAN Economic Community late this year.
Also on Thursday, Ms. Doan met with Lao President Chummaly Sayasone and Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong.
