Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang told the conference that in recent years, 155,000 workers have been deployed overseas. These programs significantly contributed to sustainable poverty reduction and social welfare, particularly for policy beneficiaries, people in remote and extremely difficult areas, as well as  demobilized soldiers and police officers.

“This is a key channel for implementing major Party policies on international integration, economic human-resource development, and economic diplomacy. It also forms an important pillar of ‘human-resource dialogue,’ helping present Vietnam’s image and the disciplined, professional qualities of its people to the global community,” said Thang.

He noted, “During their time working abroad, workers are protected by international agreements. When they complete their assignments and return home, we remain responsible for supporting their reintegration and ensuring they can apply the skills and expertise gained overseas to domestic environment.”

Participants exchanged experiences, identified challenges, and aligned  orientations and solutions for the next phase of Vietnam’s overseas labor programs to meet growing demands for both higher quality and larger workforce numbers.
