Vietnam and Russia continue promoting comprehensive strategic partnership

(VOVworld)-Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrey Kovtun has reiterated both sides’ commitment to promote bilateral relations. The Ambassador was speaking during a press conference on Friday to review the development of Russia – Vietnam strategic partnership. The two sides this year have had a lot of activities to implement cooperative agreements in trade, scientific, technical, educational and telecom industries. The trade turnover between Vietnam and Russia in the first ten months of this year reached over US$3 billion, up 40% over the same period last year. The ambassador said that more should be done to obtain the target of 7 billion dollars in trade revenue by 2015: “Bilateral relations have seen comprehensive development based on mutual understanding and respect for each other’s traditions. Developing relations with Vietnam is one of the main priorities in Russia’s foreign policy in Asia for mutual interest and benefiting the Asia Pacific.”
