(VOVworld) - Vietnam strongly condemned Monday’s bombing in the Thai capital and hopes the culprits will be severely punished, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Hai Binh said on Tuesday. “Our deep sympathy is with the Thai Government and people and other countries with citizens killed or wounded in the attack,” the spokesperson said, also offering condolences to the victims’ families. He also confirmed that there was a Vietnamese national injured in the incident, and the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand has visited and provided assistance to the citizen. The embassy has recommended that Vietnamese not come to the site of the bombing until the situation improves and should follow directives of the local authorities. The embassy is working closely with relevant Thai agencies to gather information and support Vietnamese citizens. The Monday bombing occurred at an intersection near the Hindu shrine in central Bangkok. Police found two other bombs at the site. Five of the deceased were Thai nationals while three came from China, two from Hong Kong (China), two from Malaysia and one from Singapore. The other victims have yet to be identified.
