Hai said Vietnam wants to promote its comprehensive partnership with the US in a practical and stable manner on the basis of respecting each other’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and political regimes to lift the relationship to a greater height.

He said Vietnam is ready to partner with the US on regional and global issues of shared concern to contribute to peace, stability, cooperation, and an order based on international law in the region, including maintaining freedom, safety, and security of navigation and overflight in the East Sea/South China Sea in accordance with the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Hai asked the US to continue holding dialogues with Vietnam on market economy issues, consider applying market economy principles on a sectoral basis, and organise another dialogue on this issue in the near future.

He said he hopes the two countries will continue to cooperate in areas of mutual concern, promote a free, open and transparent trade environment, enhance the empowerment of women, cope with climate change, develop the digital economy, and train human resources.
