The Embassy explained that for nearly 600,000 foreign students, the Australian Government encourages recourse to family support, part-time work (allowing up to 40 hours in 2 weeks) and personal savings to cover cost. Students who have been in Australia for more than 1 year can apply for a maximum of 10,000 AUD from the pension fund in the current fiscal year to live. The Australian Government will also continue to work with the education sector to discuss other support measures for international students.

The Vietnamese Embassy has told the Vietnam Students Association about the Australian Government policy and assured the Vietnamese Association that Vietnamese continue their work and study in Australia.
