Vietnam informs foreign diplomatic missions of National Party Congress

(VOVWORLD) -The 14th National Party Congress is a turning point and a momentous milestone in Vietnam's development process, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung briefed foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations in Vietnam on the upcoming Congress.

Chairing the briefing in Hanoi on Wednesday, Minister Trung emphasized preparations for the Congress, stating that the document drafting process has undergone fundamental changes and reflected a spirit of continued innovation in approach and thinking. The personnel work for the Congress has been conducted meticulously, thoroughly, cautiously, and accurately, which is considered a prerequisite for "turning vision and aspirations into results."

Referring to the Congress documents’ foreign policy guidelines, the FM underlined the continuity of the guidelines from the đổi mới (renewal) period and the addition of strengthening national defense and security and boosting foreign relations and international integration, which he said are crucial and ongoing tasks.

“Vietnam's unwavering policy is independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralism and diversification of foreign relations. The highest national interests must be ensured on the basis of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter, equal and mutually beneficial cooperation. Vietnam is a friend, a reliable partner, and an active and responsible member of the international community, and actively and responsibly participating in resolving common regional and global issues,” Minister Trung said.

At the briefing, ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions applauded Vietnam's achievements and expressed their expectations for future development directions. “What makes Vietnam story truly inspiring is not just the numbers. It’s the determination to ensure that growth translates into better lives for all people. It is the commitment to people centered sustainable development, reducing inequality, and strengthening institutions. It is the courage to confront climate vulnerability, while striving for a greener, more resilient future,” UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam Pauline Tamesis commented. 

Ambassadors and representatives of foreign agencies in Vietnam said they are confident that the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam will be a great success.
