Vietnam, Japan forge closer ties

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Saturday agreed on major orientations and specific measures to implement their agreements in line with joint statement to further develop the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership.

At a Saturday meeting between the two leaders in Da Nang as part of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, the Vietnamese and Japanese PMs also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern including issues related to the East Sea. Both leaders agreed to continue coordination at global and regional forums including ASEAN, APEC, ASEM, and the UN.

The two PMs launched the Vietnam-Japan cultural space in Hoi An ancient town, on Saturday night.
