Vietnam, Japan sign parliamentary cooperation agreement

(VOVWORLD) - The top legislators of Vietnam and Japan have agreed to enhance exchanges and meetings between the two countries’ parliamentarians and promote the important role of the Parliamentary Friendship Union in enhancing people-to-people exchanges and cooperation between their businesses and localities.

During an official visit to Japan, Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man held talks with President of the House of Councillors Sekiguchi Masakazu in Tokyo on Thursday, where they reached consensus on strengthening collaboration between specialized Committees, fine-tuning institutions and policies, and building legal corridors to support their businesses to invest in each country.
The two leaders also agreed to strengthen coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums and mechanisms such as ASEAN, the UN, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, and the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum.

At the end of the talks, they signed a cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the House of Councilors of Japan.
