Vietnam, Laos enhance parliamentary relations

(VOVworld) - Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly (NA) Pany Yathotou left HCM City on Saturday after an official visit to Vietnam and attending the 132nd Assembly of the Inter-parliamentary Union. She had talks with National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

During their talks, both sides confirmed their respect and determination to enhance the traditional relationship between Vietnam and Laos. They committed to continue to support and cooperate with each other at regional and international forums.
The leaders discussed measures to enhance comprehensive cooperation between the two governments and National Assembly in politics, economics, society, culture, education, and human resources development. They agreed that exchanging high-level delegations in the future will foster the special friendly relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

The Lao parliamentary delegation also worked with the authorities of Ho Chi Minh City, Kien Giang and Ben Tre provinces.
