The report release was attended by 20 education ministers, educators, and representatives of international organizations.

According to the report, since 2000, the number of school students worldwide has increased 327 million, reaching 1.4 billion in 2024. But the number of children and adolescents not attending school has risen for the 7th consecutive year, reaching 273 million, due to the combined impact of population growth, crises, and funding shortages.

In addition, more than 1 in 6 children worldwide are currently living in conflict-affected areas, adding millions more out-of-school children to the regular statistics.
