(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has made important contributions to ASEAN’s overall success in 2025, said Deputy Foreign Minister and SOM ASEAN–Vietnam Chair Dang Hoang Giang at an inter-agency meeting on Tuesday reviewing Vietnam’s participation in ASEAN in 2025 and outlining priorities for 2026.

In 2025, Vietnam worked with other member states to finalize the implementation of the Master Plan on building the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and adopt the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.

Vietnam also successfully assumed key roles, including Chair of the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) Task Force, and hosted the ASEAN Future Forum for the second consecutive year. Giang said.

"Over the past 30 years, Vietnam has transformed from a country beginning its international integration to an indispensable member of ASEAN, marking a major milestone in the growth of Vietnam’s foreign policy and multilateral diplomacy in nearly four decades of national renewal," added Mr. Giang.
