Addressing the Central Military Commission’s 15th meeting in Hanoi on Thursday, the Party chief, who is also Secretary of the Commission, asked the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) to remain steadfast to be fully prepared for the new phase of development.

He urged all officers and soldiers to adopt this motto as a guiding principle for daily practice, serving as the benchmark for building the military in the new context.

General Secretary Lam praised the military’s successful fulfillment of military, defense, and Party-building tasks in 2025, with many assignments executed exceptionally well.

Noting that 2026 holds strategic significance with several major political events, the Party Chief urged the commission and the Ministry of National Defense to set example in enforcing Party guidelines and policies.

He said the commission and the ministry must effectively carry out the Party’s ideological work in the military, ensuring absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, the Party, the State and the people; and maintain high readiness for combat, disaster response, search and rescue, and overcoming natural disaster and war consequences.

In particular, the Party leader said it is essential to continue refining and promoting the implementation of the “Criteria Framework for Building a Modern Vietnam People’s Army in the New Context,” ensuring a coordinated mechanism, a clear roadmap, and steady, well-planned steps.

It is also necessary to accelerate breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; to develop a digital ecosystem and databases; and to ensure information security and safety, said the Party leader.
