Afterwards, representatives of 65 countries and organizations signed the Convention, marking a historic moment when countries demonstrated their resolve to cooperate globally in combating cybercrime.

At an international press conference with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh after the signing ceremony, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said: “Today’s signing is an important milestone in our shared journey to a safer digital world. But it’s only the beginning. The real power of the Convention will lie in turning signatures into tangible actions. It must be ratified, implemented effectively and fully.”

This is an honor and at the same time a great responsibility for Vietnam, the Prime Minister said, adding Vietnam is committed to promoting cybersecurity initiatives.

The Prime Minister also said that for the first time in history, the name of the capital city of Vietnam is associated with a global convention of the UN, reflecting the international community's recognition of Vietnam's contribution to the document development.
