Vietnam, Republic of Korea boost economic ties
(VOVworld)- A workshop on experiences and opportunities to boost Vietnam and the Republic of Korea’s economic ties took place in Hanoi on Monday attracting 150 delegates. In his address, the Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Dao Quang Thu stressed that Vietnam had always considered the Republic of Korea an important partner and hoped that Korean businesses would expand their operations in Vietnam:“It is important for both sides to strengthen information sharing on policy research, market approaches and trade and investment policies. The Ministry of Planning and Investment, as well as other ministries, sectors and localities will create the best conditions for Korean businesses to operate effectively in Vietnam. We support cooperative activities between the two countries to elevate our strategic partnership to a new height”.
At the workshop, Korean delegates shared their experience in their country’s successful development. The Republic of Korea currently ranks 4th among 100 countries and territories investing in Vietnam with a total capital of nearly 26 billion USD. Two-way trade turnover reached 20 billion USD last year.
