At a meeting with Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) Gennady Zyuganov, the two leaders discussed measures to intensify their traditional friendship and increase cooperation between the two Parties. They agreed to regularly share information and coordinate at multi-lateral forums.

The Vietnamese official also met Sergei Zheleznyak, Deputy Secretary of the United Russia Party’s General Council and State Duma Deputy Speaker. They exchanged experience in Party building to contribute to fostering the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.

In a working session with Justice Minister Alexander Konovalov, the two sides discussed issues related to state management of people’s organizations as well as the status of the Vietnamese community in Russia. The Russian side spoke of Vietnamese people’s integration into the country, saying they believe the community will contribute to the bilateral time-honored friendship and all-round cooperation.

During these meetings, Mai informed the hosts of Vietnam’s situation and its stance on several regional and international issues, including the East Sea issue.

Russian veterans and members of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association showed their support for Vietnam’s stance of addressing the East Sea issue through peaceful means with respect for international law.
