(VOVWORLD) - The Steering Committee for the strategy for building and perfecting a law-governed socialist State until 2030 with a vision to 2045 convened its fourth meeting in Hanoi on Monday.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, head of the committee, underscored the need to build a strategy based on the viewpoints and policies of the Party, Marxism-Leninism, and Ho Chi Minh Thought.
In addition, said Mr. Phuc, Vietnam needs to learn from its international experience, ensure political stability and national sovereignty, maintain its socialist orientation, and promote socialist democracy.
According to President Phuc, “The Steering Committee agrees that it’s necessary to promote democracy and discuss controversial issues, clarify the relationship between Party leadership, State management, and the people's mastery, and create a socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people and for the people, and led by the Party."
