Vietnam treasures multifaceted ties with Morocco

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam always attaches great importance to enhancing friendship and multilateral ties with African countries, especially Morocco. Vietnamese top legislator Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan made the statement while receiving President of the Morrocan House of Representatives Habib El Malki in Hanoi on Monday.

Ngan pledged Vietnam’s support for Morocco to connect with other ASEAN countries, suggesting that both sides boost investment promotion and trade exchange via business workshops, forums and international fairs.

Regarding the East Sea issue, Ms. Ngan reiterated Vietnam’s consistent policy of settling sovereignty and territory disputes peacefully on the basis of international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Malki said Vietnam and Morocco share common principles and values in external policies which aim to promote peace, security and prosperity of nations. He stressed Morocco’s support for Vietnam’s stance on addressing all disputes by peaceful dialogues.

"Mr. Malki said that Vietnam and Morocco shared many memories in their history and the younger generations are tasked with promoting the two countries’ similarities and mutual support to a higher level.", said Ms. Ngan at a press briefing after the talks.
