(VOVworld)-  Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has stressed that Vietnam wants to increase cooperation with Japan in such areas as human resource development, infrastructure construction, and agricultural production. At a meeting with Hideaki Omura, Governor of the Japanese Prefecture of Aichi in Hanoi on Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Phuc said together with governmental-level relations, Vietnam attaches importance to cooperation between the two countries’ localities, including between Aichi and Vietnamese cities and provinces. He said the Vietnamese government will create the best possible conditions for Japanese businesses to operate efficiently in Vietnam.  Omura said his Vietnam visit aims to explore opportunities for cooperation in the areas of Aichi’s strength, especially aviation.  He expressed hope to increase direct flights between Aichi and Hanoi and HCM City of Vietnam in the near future.

The same day, Minister of Public Security General Tran Dai Quang received outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yasuaki Tanizaki. In his address, Minister Quang highlighted the Japanese Ambassador’s contributions to boosting the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan as well as cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and related Japanese agencies. He expressed his hope that the Ambassador would continue to contribute to enhancing bilateral ties.
