(VOVworld) – Deputy Minister of Defence, Senior Lieutenant Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh spoke highly of the growing comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the US, noting that defence ties were becoming more efficient. General Vinh made the remarks while receiving Frank A Rose, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Space and Defence Policy, who is currently on a working visit to Vietnam, in Hanoi on Friday.

General Vinh expressed his hope that both sides would continue working together to ensure that their joint initiatives, as stated in their 2011 Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral defence cooperation would materialise. He laid emphasis on cooperative activities relating to the clearance of unexploded ordnances left after the war and the search for US servicemen who went missing in action during that period.
