(VOVWORLD) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, authorized by President Luong Cuong, awarded Vietnam's Friendship Order to US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Evans Knapper in Hanoi on Tuesday, in recognition of the Ambassador's contributions to consolidating and strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries during his tenure in Vietnam.

During a reception held after the award ceremony the same day, Minister Le Hoai Trung highlighted Ambassador Knapper’s active role in advancing bilateral relations, particularly in politics and diplomacy, trade and investment, defense and security, education and training, science and technology, humanitarian cooperation, and post-war remediation.
He reaffirmed that Vietnam consistently attaches great importance to its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the United States and called for continued close coordination to effectively implement agreements reached by senior leaders of both countries.
Ambassador Marc Knapper said he was proud to have contributed to the strong development of bilateral ties, helping to deepen political trust, expand trade, and enhance cooperation across multiple fields.
