14th National Party Congress expected to drive economy to achieve double-digit growth: Expert

(VOVWORLD) - As the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam is drawing near, Vietnamese intellectuals in Japan have expressed strong expectations that the Congress will help the national economy achieve double-digit growth in the near future.

Professor Tran Dang Xuan of Hiroshima University, who is also President of the Vietnam–Japan Scientists Association (VJS), said the 14th National Party Congress is a historic political event that will introduce major policy decisions guiding Vietnam into a new era of development.
He said: "At its 2026 annual meeting, the VJS outlined specific initiatives aimed at maximizing support from the Japanese Government, Japanese scientists, and the Japanese public. The association places particular emphasis on human resource development and education, viewing people alongside education, science, and technology as the key factors enabling Vietnam to achieve sustainable strength, drawing lessons from Japan’s own development experience."
