Vietnam values relations with Canada

(VOV) - Vietnam places great importance on developing ties with Canada and wants to further relations based on this stable comprehensive and long-term partnership.

Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh made the statement at Wednesday's reception in Hanoi for Canadian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Morris Rosenberg.

Both sides should increase the exchange of delegations and improve future cooperation in economics, trade, investment, science, technology, education and training, and coordinate at international forums, said Foreign Minister Minh.

He also suggested boosting coordination to organize celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

Deputy Foreign Minister Rosenberg said his country wishes to promote its relations with ASEAN member countries and praised Vietnam’s role in the region, adding that developing good relations with Vietnam is strategically significant for Canada.

The two sides have great potential for developing their relationship in the future. Canada will work hand in hand with Vietnam to bring their substantial and effective ties to a higher level, he noted.
