Vietnamese government donates 100,000 USD to China’s flood recovery efforts
(VOVWORLD) - The Government and people of Vietnam have decided to donate 100,000 USD to help the Government and people of China overcome the aftermath of floods and earthquakes, Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Friday.

The decision is made with regards to the traditional friendship and mutual assistance between the two countries, according to the statement.
Since early June, heavy rains, floods and earthquakes have ravaged many parts of China, causing losses of life and property.
China Friday raised the flood emergency response in Taihu Lake basin to Level 1, the highest level in a four-level response system, as torrential rain continued to fall in nearby areas. On the same day, China issued a yellow warning of typhoons after continuous heavy rains in many parts of the country. The National Meteorological Center of China recommends local authorities to remain vigilant about floods and landslides, and recommend suspending outdoor activities in dangerous areas.
Heavy rains have destroyed more than 17,000 houses, causing economic losses of nearly 6 billion USD, leaving hundreds of people dead or missing, and impacting nearly 20 million people living along the Yangtze River.
