Vietnamese legislature’s foreign relations in era of national rise
(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has written an article about Vietnamese legislature’s foreign relations in the era of national rise to mark the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The article said that throughout the 80-year history of the Vietnamese National Assembly (1946-2026), parliamentary diplomacy has become an important diplomatic channel, alongside Party diplomacy, State diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy.
Delivered systematically and comprehensively, from lawmaking and oversight to bilateral and multilateral parliamentary cooperation, the National Assembly's foreign relations have contributed to affirming Vietnam's readiness to be a friend and a reliable partner. It is proactively and actively participating in regional and global parliamentary forums, demonstrating responsibility in jointly resolving regional and global issues, and contributing to mobilizing the Vietnamese community abroad to turn towards the homeland and join hands in national construction.

Chairman Man emphasized that the upcoming 14th National Party Congress is a milestone of special significance for national development path in the new period. Therefore, the National Assembly's foreign relations will further strengthen its role as a major component of comprehensive and modern diplomacy.
It is set to proactively, actively, and responsibly participate in multilateral parliamentary mechanisms; promote bilateral relations with the parliaments of other countries, especially with strategic and important partners; and improve the quality of legislation, ratification, and supervision of the enforcement of international treaties, ensuring harmony between national interests and international commitments.
Furthermore, it is essential to build a professional and capable team of parliamentary diplomacy officials to enhance the quality and effectiveness of their work; boost the role of the National Assembly in both bilateral and multilateral channels; and to contribute to mobilizing resources to usher the country into a new era, realizing the aspiration of building a prosperous, happy, and thriving Vietnam.
The Vietnamese National Assembly has to date established relations with more than 140 parliaments and national assemblies, set up more than 50 parliamentary friendship groups with the parliaments of other countries, and delivered many effective and practical activities.
