(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam will face the UAE at the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup quarterfinals, following the final match of Group B between the UAE and Syria on Tuesday.

In the 23rd minute, a poor coordination between the Syrian defender and goalkeeper created an opportunity for Mansoor Al Menhali to break through and set up Ali Almemari, who easily finished to score. In the 55th minute, the Syrians managed to score the equalizer. As both sides failed to capitalize on chances, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
The UAE only needed a draw to advance with 4 points after three games, the same as Syria but with a bigger goal difference. It came in second in group B behind Japan.
The quarterfinal match between Vietnam and the UAE will take place at 10:30PM on Friday (Vietnam time).
