Vietnamese people in Russia turn to the homeland

(VOVworld) – Vietnamese people in Russia have raised more than 80,000 USD to support Vietnamese marine law enforcement forces. Pham Thanh Xuan, member of the Vietnamese Association in Russia, said Vietnamese people in Russia closely followed developments concerning China’s placing of an oilrig in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf. They staged demonstrations against China’s actions and raised money to send home. Nguyen Ngoc Xuan, president of the Thanh Hoa Fellow Countrymen’s Association, said: “Vietnamese people, wherever they are, always remember their responsibility toward the homeland. We will continue to raise money to support Vietnamese marine law enforcement forces, who are defending Vietnam’s national sovereignty.”
